Ramat Hanadiv Excavations. Final Report of the 1984-1998 Seasons

Three previously unknown sites were excavated at Ramat Hanadiv, located at the southern end of Mt. Carmel. At Horvat ‘Aqav in the western part of Ramat Hanadiv, remains belonging to three periods were exposed: a small Phoenician shrine, a Herodian estate manor and a Byzantine period  villa rustica. Three winepresses were found, indicating that the inhabitants of the site worked their vinyards and produced wine. At Horvat ‘Eleq, located in the eastern part of Ramat Hanadiv, a small Hellenistic village and a sophisticated Herodian palace complex were found. The third site, at the southern end of Ramat Hanadiv, is a field of Early Bronze Age tumuli.
