The Monastery of the Virgins. Byzantine Period Temple Mount Excavations in Jerusalem
The structure identified as the Monastery of the Virgins ws uncovered during the course of the Temple Mount Excavations, built at the foot of the southern wall, ten meters from the Triple Gate. It is dated to the second half of the 4th century CE. It was destroyed during the Persian conquest in 614 CE.
