Professor Shamir Yona, a renowned biblical and linguistic scholar, served as head of the Department of Biblical and Ancient Near Eastern Studies at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and as Rector of Kaye Academic College of Education. The Jubilee Book in his honor is a major project presenting 65 new studies by 69 leading researchers from academic institutions in Israel and abroad. The articles in the volume deal with diverse fields related to the research interest of the honoree, including Bible and the Ancient Near East, archaeology, language and style, Jewish art and more.
